The information you found on Mrs Sinclair sounds like a good lead. My
information on her came from a letter Margaret Vladis (daughter of Thelma
Maxwell and aunt of Sandy Arrell) wrote to my grandmother Maxie in 1988 as
    follows:

'That is quite a story you told me about Uncle Clarrie - what was it with
some of the Maxwell males? Mum's father walking out and leaving our grandma
with all those children to live for many years with a Mrs. Sinclair, who I
am told he always introduced as his wife! And that is around the Grafton
    area too.'
